Important Guidelines for International Patients

• Call in advance: Always call the hospital prior to your visit to confirm that an English-speaking doctor is available and whether an appointment is required.
• What to bring: Passport, Japanese Health Insurance Card (for residents), Travel Insurance documents, and cash/credit card.
• Referral letter fee: Large general hospitals may charge an extra first-visit fee (Sentei Ryouyouhi, ¥5,000–¥10,000+) if you do not have a referral letter from a local clinic.
